Time log categories

Time log categories and their meanings

When creating a time log, you have the option to categorise the time log by type. You have three key category areas

Work related time: Time the fieldworker spends working (generally paid work)

Paid personal time: Includes categories such as annual leave

Non paid personal time: includes non paid time off, unauthorised absence and time off for contractors

Category meanings

Work related time

  • Job: use the job option for time worked on jobs. this will allow you to optionally select a job to mark the time agains or you can just use the category generally without selecting a specific job.

  • Quote: use the Quote option for time worked on Quotes. this will allow you to optionally select a job to mark the time agains or you can just use the category generally without selecting a specific Quote.

  • Travel: use this if the log is for time spent travelling for work

  • Work meeting: useful for office meetings and other work related meetings

  • Part collection: Collecting parts for work

  • Vehicle repairs: Vehicle breakdowns, repairs etc

  • Training & Study: perfect for CPD, training events and study

Paid personal time

  • Medical appointment: Dentist, doctors and other medical appointments

  • Paid holiday: Annual leave and other holiday provided by the company

  • Sick Leave: Paid sick leave

Non paid personal time

  • Unauthorised absence: Time off that has not agreed by the company

  • Personal meeting: Personal meeting non connected with the company

  • Personal travel: Personal non paid travel time

  • Non paid holiday: Time off outside of annual leave
